The HS Kompact team might recall my extended correspondence, leading to me visiting one of their sites to check out their wallets in-person so to help me decide on which colour to choose. I literally never write reviews, but figured that this may just be that one time, as an appreciation for the opportunity for the arranged live inspection. Cheers guys.
The Olive-Green Premium Fold looks even better when getting eyes on the real thing, and not only did it stand out to me for its unique bold aesthetic, but much to my surprise, its texture was especially satisfying on the fingers, and being able to compare, its texture was best out of all the Premium Fold colours (*second to Premium Carbon, but colour green ended up the winner overall).
About 6 months in, my Fold wallet has been subject to the daily ride-in-pocket and constant battering against keys+keychain+fob+etc. It's proven nicely durable, outside not showing any real wear-and-tear, and inside it's managed to confidently bear with my tendency to overpack it with surplus cards, many banknotes, plus coins, all at once. The flick-frame of course is treated to the recommended 6 cards, and the flick mechanism has proven robust without issue. It's particularly satisfying being able to half flick a credit card to scan it on an eftpos machine without needing to pull it out at all, perhaps the neatest part about wielding this wallet.
An aspect to consider is that the coin pouch is small, best suited to hold near a dozen gold coins. The one design improvement suggestion that I would give relates to the pouch zip, which can be inadvertently nudged open in-pocket every now and again, so might benefit from being able to be zipped in an 'L' track for more resilient fastening, beyond just the present 'I' track.
The Fold is an excellent compact wallet, and is actually a wallet and not a mere minimalist cardholder. The button clip to secure the wallet both seals its contents in and for me sealed the deal, setting this wallet apart from similar competitors which lack this feature. Being a possession that one carries daily for years on end, it's something that I reckon is worth getting right for the long haul, and for that I certainly recommend the Premium Fold for those wanting a real wallet, that's durable, can carry everything, with instant card access, in a compact convenient profile.
